Our advisors work directly in schools with high percentages of low-income students and low college enrollment or graduation rates. Advisors honor each student’s lived experience by taking a holistic approach that is tailored to fit the academic, emotional, financial and social needs of each scholar.

We partner with schools and districts striving to improve high school graduation rates and increase the number of graduates going directly to college. We serve thousands of students in high school and college to ensure their success. Since CSF’s inception, our CSF Scholars have attended colleges in every state of the nation.

Grades 9-10

Our grades 9-10 program focuses on providing the support students need to successfully navigate the transition from middle school to high school, manage the academic rigor of high school, and become college-ready.

Grades 11-12

Our grades 11-12 program provides the support and guidance low-income students need to successfully navigate their last two years of high school and prepare for a successful college experience.

Grades 7-12 CSF-DC Scholars

Our CSF-DC Scholars program increases college awareness and academic readiness, provides access to opportunities, and improves graduation rates for underserved, low-income and first-generation students in Wards 7 and 8.

Grades 9-12 CSF-DC Upward Bound

CSF-DC TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded college prep program for income-eligible and first-generation college students.

CSF-DC Out-of-School Time (OST) Programming

CSF-DC’s Out-of-School Time Programming fosters a learning environment that enhances confidence, teamwork, leadership, and educational and social competencies through engaging activities after school and during the summer.

CSF-DC College Programs

CSF-DC Assistant Program Officers (APOs) provide college students with remote coaching and advisement support, conduct on-site/on-campus academic and campus engagement monitoring visits, assess and monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and provide career planning assistance.

College Services

College is a major milestone for students. It is a time when they move into a challenging new world of freedom, responsibility, new peers and unfamiliar surroundings. We continue to offer the customized support they need in college to help them succeed.

CSF-DC Parent and Community Outreach

CSF-DC’s community outreach initiative, Parent University, supports parents, guardians and other members of our students’ youth development circle to understand the benefits of participation and citizenship in CSF-DC programming, while simultaneously helping families eliminate social services issues and needs.
