Grades 7-12 CSF-DC Scholars
CSF-DC serves students from Wards 7 and 8 through a comprehensive, research-based model that blends academic coaching, mentoring, and social-emotional support. Each year, we recruit motivated students from our partner middle and high schools who show academic promise and a commitment to growth. Interested students complete an application and participate in an interview. Qualified students are selected and participate in an orientation before beginning their CSF-DC journey with our Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP). Throughout the school year, more than 500 scholars receive individualized case management, one-on-one advising, and college and career guidance, ensuring steady academic progress, on-time graduation, and a confident transition to college and beyond.
The Academic Year Program provides 500 select middle and high school students with individualized/differentiated support through a case management system to ensure grade-level progression to high school graduation and immediate transition into college. The Program components include:
-
-
Academic Advisement: Monthly one-on-one and group meetings to monitor grades and attendance, and to connect students with academic and developmental resources.
-
Student Development Workshops: Monthly sessions focused on building strong “habits of mind” and supporting social-emotional growth.
-
College Access Support: Guidance and hands-on assistance with college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship identification.
-
College & Career Readiness: College tours and career exploration opportunities, including job shadowing, cultural experiences, and career-focused workshops.
-
Applications are now closed.
Please check back in August 2026.
The completed application should be reviewed by parent(s)/guardian(s), teacher(s) or advocate(s) before submission. We look forward to supporting your child on this amazing journey!
