FAFSA & WASFA

To be considered for financial aid, all students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Free Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA). The applications open October 1 each year.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form students must fill out to get any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Many states and colleges also rely on the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid and how much they’ll get.

The Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) is for students in Washington state who are undocumented or do not qualify for federal financial aid because of their immigration status. The WASFA can also be used in limited circumstances by other select applicants who cannot or choose not to file a FAFSA.
