Award Letters communicate to students the financial aid awards a college offers them. It’s important to know which types of aid are good and ones that are not so good and how all aid impacts college costs. In this presentation, you will learn how to evaluate and compare award letters and when to appeal for special circumstances.
By the end of this presentation, you will know:
- Identify good aid and not-so-good aid
- Compare offers to determine affordability
- Determine which aid to accept and which to potentially decline
- Identify options and next steps when unmet need is too high
- Know when, how, and under what circumstances to consider a professional judgment review or special circumstances appeal
