Why I work at CSF:
Growing up, I didn’t have adults to inspire me, nor did I have any belief that I could achieve success or attain higher education. I always just felt like college wasn’t for me. Because of that, I didn’t attempt the journey to college until my late 20s. Through my experience as an older student and a woman of color, I struggled to navigate the college environment and truly thrive. Everyone deserves the opportunity to obtain a college degree, and everyone deserves to have a champion in their corner along the way. Graduating college transformed my life and allowed me to spend the last decade working in community outreach and arts and culture, specifically with underrepresented communities and families. In my role now with College Success Foundation, I get the opportunity to serve students and be the champion that everyone deserves. I love the mission and the goals of College Success Foundation and the truly life-changing work that is happening, and I am so excited to be a part of it!
What I enjoy doing outside of work:
I have a wonderful partner and 5-year-old son. We are avid glampers and outdoor people. Growing up in the city, I didn’t have much access to beautiful spaces, so now I take every advantage of swimming, camping and playing in the wilderness with my family! If we are not out in nature, we are usually at some type of community event in town!
