College Success Foundation-DC Board of Directors Announces Retirement of CSF-DC Executive Director Lester McKee
The Board Names Maggie Nayyar as Executive Director
and Kevin Mungin as Deputy Executive Director

Washington, D.C.— September 30, 2025 —The College Success Foundation-District of Columbia’s Board of Directors announced today that Lester McKee, its Executive Director, will retire on December 31, 2025, following a decade of dedicated service to the students and families of Washington, D.C.
Since joining the organization in 2015, Lester redesigned the organization’s student support services delivery system, introduced programs such as Parent University and Saturday Academy, strengthened the way the organization tracks student success, and built a culture of continuous learning among staff. Under Lester’s leadership, CSF-DC students have outperformed local, regional and national peer groups in high school graduation success, college transition rates and national college completion rates.
“Lester has been a transformational leader and such an integral part of D.C.’s educational community,” said CSF-DC Board Chair Creighton “Chip” Magid. “Lester’s vision and dedication have shaped the lives and futures of thousands of young people across his 40-year career. We are grateful for his service in strengthening the outcomes for students across D.C.”
The CSF-DC Board is pleased to appoint Maggie Nayyar as its next Executive Director. Since joining the organization in 2021, Maggie led CSF-DC’s development and community outreach initiatives, bringing more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership, organizational strategy and external affairs experience to the role. Maggie has demonstrated an ability to build and inspire high-performing, cross-functional teams, and drive organizational growth and impact.
“I’m honored to follow in Lester’s footsteps,” Maggie said. “Our students inspire us every day, and I’m eager to continue this important work with our incredible staff, schools and community partners.”
Kevin Mungin, who has been part of CSF-DC since 2008, has been promoted to Deputy Executive Director, Programs and Student Services. Kevin is a highly respected professional with a strong background in management, leadership, supervision, training and teaching. Kevin has played a key role in designing and growing CSF-DC’s programs.
“I look forward to working with Maggie and our team in our new roles,” Kevin said. “I want to continue to make sure every student we serve has the support they need to succeed in college and beyond.”
