The Power of Belonging: Highlights from the 18th Annual CSF-DC/Costco Breakfast Fundraiser
On September 30, 2025, CSF-DC proudly hosted its 18th Annual CSF-DC/Costco Fundraising Breakfast at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park Hotel, following an inspiring VIP Reception the evening before. Supported by our dedicated Host Committee and Board Members Chip Magid, Yoram Rubanenko, Joe Portera, and Richard Hahn, the event brought together more than 425 guests and 256 sponsors and donors—raising an incredible $1,171,000 in support of our Scholars.
This year’s theme, The Power of Belonging, came to life through our Master of Ceremonies, Mark Sturdivant, whose energy and passion set the tone for a morning filled with student voices, empowerment, and purpose. Attendees were moved by the heartfelt stories of CSF-DC Scholar Leela Arno and Alumna Renesha Sizer, who shared how their experiences with CSF-DC have shaped their personal and academic journeys.
We were honored to recognize Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) with the 2025 CSF-DC Pinnacle Award, celebrating their steadfast partnership and generosity. Over the past 18 years, RNDC has contributed more than $750,000 to support our mission and the success of our Scholars.
The morning concluded on a joyful note with a spirited performance by the Marching Titans band and Titan Delight Auxiliary dance team from our partner school, Friendship Prep Tech. Their energy, talent, and school pride filled the room with excitement and captured the essence of community that defines CSF-DC.
We are deeply grateful to our partners at Costco Wholesale for their unwavering commitment and to every supporter whose generosity helps us create opportunities for our Scholars. Together, we continue to build a stronger sense of belonging and a brighter future for students across the District.
