Ensuring Every Student Has a Fair Opportunity to Thrive

To help increase high school graduation and direct college enrollment rates in Washington, College Success Foundation partnered with the state and the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) in 2022 to expand our college coaching services model. As noted in our annual Report to the Community, we served more than 24,000 students in middle school, high school and college during the 2023–24 school year.

This number represents a huge expansion of our services. In a recent article, CSF’s Executive Vice President of Strategy and External Affairs Michael Cheever explains why we took on this challenge.

“As a society, we have unintentionally made college more difficult to access and navigate, whether through rising costs or bureaucratic complexities. This has placed undue burdens on students who aspire to higher education,” he says. “We, as a public, have a responsibility to ease these barriers, ensuring that every student has a fair opportunity to thrive.”
