CSF-Spokane Regional Board Member is named 2023 Washington State Superintendent of the Year
College Success Foundation (CSF) celebrates Dr. Adam Swinyard and his recognition as the 2023 Washington State Superintendent of the Year by the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA). Dr. Swinyard is a valued partner and an esteemed member of our CSF-Spokane Regional Board of Directors. We applaud him for his well-deserved honor!
Dr. Swinyard was named superintendent of Spokane Public Schools in June 2020 and led the district through the myriad of pandemic challenges. He is being acknowledged for his sound leadership and the positive, equity-driven outcomes he is achieving in his district. This includes implementing a multi-tiered system of support and using restorative practices to address the disproportionality in student discipline methods.
“This is an incredible recognition for Dr. Swinyard and to highlight what we have known about him for a long time,” says Kelly Fukai, Board Chair, CSF-Spokane Regional Board of Directors and Vice President, Government & Community Affairs, Washington Technology Industry Association. “He has been a steady and calming presence throughout the pandemic. We thank him for being such a remarkable partner to our CSF team and community!”

“Dr. Swinyard has great compassion for students and leads with student success at the core of his heart. He is a respected and strategic thinker who deals with challenges head-on. He works extremely hard for all students.”
Shannon Demant, Regional Director, CSF-Spokane
