CSF celebrates AmeriCorps Week: March 10-16, 2024
Since 2010, AmeriCorps members have been a part of College Success Foundation’s College and Career Coaches Program. As we celebrate AmeriCorps week, we thank our AmeriCorps college and career coaches for their dedication to their communities and students. AmeriCorps members deliver CSF’s college and career readiness lessons to middle school students in our partner districts throughout Washington state, including Auburn, Highline, Kent, Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima. We’re grateful for your commitment and service!
Why start college and career exploration in middle school?
CSF starts early to build awareness of college and career choices, ensuring that middle school students know college is an option for them before they even enter high school. Early college awareness in middle school strengthens students’ aspirations to attend college, increases the likelihood that students will enroll in college and improves success and likelihood of college graduation.
How do AmeriCorps college and career coaches support CSF Scholars?
CSF AmeriCorps college and career coaches deliver lessons during the school day, coordinate and support college-going culture and career activities for all students in a school, and build students’ awareness of College Bound.
Students participate in structured college and career readiness lessons that help them recognize the benefits of a college education, understand the steps they’ll need to take to prepare for college, and know how to pay for it. Read below to meet this year’s CSF AmeriCorps members and learn about the creative ways they are engaging with middle schoolers at their schools.
