Affirmative action: A message for our students

August 11, 2023

CSF affirming YOU

CSF Scholars,

Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned 50 years of precedent on affirmative action.  College Success Foundation immediately released a statement reaffirming our commitment to equity and stating our actions – including the launch of a new scholarship – in response to this decision.

You may be asking yourself, “How does this Supreme Court decision affect me?  How will it impact my family?  Will this alter my goals?”

Do not let this court decision dissuade you or deter your progress or plans.

In fact, leverage this opportunity! Harness the anguish and discontent and use it as a catalyst to inspire your work and drive your vision.

Remain confident – you belong here. Remain vigilant – advocate for yourself. Seek assistance – we are here for you.

Please note, for students in Washington state, there is little impact because Washington state barred affirmative action in 1998.

If you have concerns, uncertainties or questions, please reach out to your advisor or any member of the CSF staff – we are all here to support you and your success!
