CSF-Spokane College Signing Day Honors High School Seniors

June 15, 2021

As the school year comes to a close and high school seniors look to the future, the Spokane community took a moment to honor them, celebrate all they’ve accomplished, and cheer them on as they embark towards college this fall.

The community rallied behind our CSF Scholars and their college goals at CSF-Spokane’s College Signing Day on June 10. The virtual event was broadcast live on SWX and KHQ.com. KHQ TV News Anchor Sean Owsley, also a first-generation college student, was the emcee.

Representatives from regional colleges and universities welcomed graduating Achievers Scholars from five Spokane high schools: Ferris, Lewis & Clark, North Central, Rogers and Shadle Park. Collectively the students will be attending 29 colleges.

Each student signed a college banner signifying their intention to attend college this fall. To cap the night, Cowles Company and Avista Foundation each awarded five $500 college scholarships to randomly selected Achievers Scholars from each high school.

The Class of 2021 has overcome tremendous obstacles in an unforgettable year and are now poised to become college graduates. Many are first in their family to attend college. We are so proud of them!

A heartfelt thank you to our event sponsors who helped to make this broadcast possible, and to the Spokane community for your generous support of CSF’s work.
