From Achiever to Advocate: Sabrina Morgan’s CSF-DC Legacy Lives On

July 24, 2025

For Sabrina Morgan, being part of the CSF-DC family isn’t just a memory, it’s a legacy.

A proud graduate of H.D. Woodson Senior High School, Class of 2008, and one of the very first CSF-DC Achievers, Sabrina holds a unique place in the organization’s history. She was there at the beginning, when the vision to support and uplift students from Wards 7 and 8 was just starting to take shape. And she’s carried that vision with her ever since.

After completing the Achievers program, Sabrina went on to earn both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of the District of Columbia. Today, she continues to give back to her community as a dedicated special education teacher, guiding and empowering the next generation of learners.

Looking back, Sabrina describes her CSF-DC experience as “incredible.” She remembers the joy of building friendships with students from across the city and the excitement of exploring college campuses during tours and summer sessions on the McDaniel Glenn campus. From resume workshops to college advisement, she credits the program with helping her prepare for life after high school.

But perhaps the most powerful part of Sabrina’s story is what’s happening now.

Her son, Nyzaih Morgan, is currently a 10th-grade CSF-DC Scholar at Friendship Collegiate Academy, following in his mother’s footsteps and forging his own path. Sabrina beams with pride as she talks about his journey:

“It means so much to see him in the program,” she shared. “He’s visiting campuses, learning about college, doing college prep work, building his resume and connecting with mentors. What I love the most is that he is continuing the legacy I started as part of the first CSF-DC class.”

For Sabrina, the impact of CSF-DC is not just about academics, it’s about access, opportunity and generational change. She hopes Nyzaih will take everything he learns and one day pass it down to his younger brother, continuing a family tradition rooted in education and empowerment.

Her advice to families and future CSF-DC supporters is simple, yet powerful:

“Go for it, and take full advantage of all the opportunities the program has to offer.”

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Sabrina, for being a trailblazer, a mentor, and now, a CSF-DC parent. We’re honored to be part of your family’s story, and proud to support Nyzaih as he carries the torch forward.
