Turning ‘no’ into ‘yes’: The power of Leadership 1000 scholarships
October 1, 2023 kicked off the official opening of the Leadership 1000 application season. The Leadership 1000 Scholarship is a vital resource that provides financial assistance to low-income students participating in CSF’s high school or college programs. Each of these scholarships is made possible through the generosity of a dedicated CSF benefactor. In addition to financial support, our scholars gain access to valuable career guidance, assistance with financial aid, and opportunities to expand their professional networks.
Financial uncertainty remains a significant obstacle for many students considering college. At the forefront of their concerns are the high costs of tuition and, more often for the students we serve, the responsibility to support their families financially. Balancing academic pursuits with the need to work to afford an education can be overwhelming, leaving many feeling discouraged. This is precisely why scholarships like the L1000 Scholarship play a pivotal role in providing students with the resources and financial stability needed to excel academically and achieve their highest potential.
Who is the L1000 for?
The L1000 Scholarship is a dedicated scholarship open to CSF’s own scholars who will be attending a Washington state college or university. Students must meet the program’s income criteria and are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Additionally, L1000 beneficiaries have the opportunity to serve as mentors to fellow students.
What sets the L1000 Scholarship apart is the fact that its funding comes from generous organizations and individuals who are committed to directly impacting the lives of the students they choose to support. As a benefactor, L1000 donors may establish specific criteria for their scholarships, such as preferred areas of study, graduation from specific high schools or regions, or enrollment at particular colleges.
