Career-connected learning: T-Mobile visit inspires CSF Scholars

April 13, 2023

CSF Scholars from Bremerton, Marysville-Pilchuck, Mount Vernon, and Port Angeles high schools came to T-Mobile’s Bellevue campus for a career day experience. The visit, in partnership with T-Mobile’s Bellevue DE&I Chapter, gave students an opportunity to gain exposure to exciting and high-demand careers in the technology field.

The full day of activities kicked off with a welcome address from Holli Martinez, VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, about the benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce, and the priority T-Mobile places on recruiting and supporting diverse talent. Students then heard from three panels of T-Mobile’s diverse workforce and gained valuable insights about the opportunities and challenges they faced in their educational and career journey to T-Mobile. The visit also included a tour of T-Mobile’s recently renovated facilities.

“Walking into the building, the students instantly tuned in to the experience,” said Keith Stier-Van Essen Program Director-NW Coastal. “The vibrant work culture spoke to them and hearing T-Mobile’s employees talk about their varying careers in tech was inspiring—catching sight of their potential future.”

From high school seniors, who are interns for T-Mobile’s Explorer Prep Program, to director-level executives—students had a chance to hear from a wide variety of employees that make up the national telecom company.

Thank you to T-Mobile for a truly memorable experience for CSF Scholars. We look forward to expanding our partnership to inspire even more young people in finding fulfilling careers after graduation.

Special thanks to T-Mobile’s Holli Martinez, Monika Thornton and Serita Smith for making this day a reality for CSF Scholars. We appreciate you!
