Financial aid resources for students and families
Financial aid can make higher education affordable despite the overwhelming cost of tuition. But the complex financial aid process can be daunting, especially for low-income students.
College Success Foundation supports students and their families in navigating the process every step of the way.
Helping students navigate financial aid
CSF advisors work with school districts to make sure students have the support they need to complete financial aid applications.
We host English and Spanish webinars about each step of the process. Students can also access a range of supports and services through our direct student programs. They get to work on their forms with one-on-one help available, and our advisors are prepared to answer any questions students may have.
Carol Garza, programs director for CSF in Yakima, supports students through virtual events and partnerships with community organizations.
“A lot of students don’t even know what to ask. They want to be in the room with others to hear what others are asking,” Carol says. “Getting on the computer to start their form and then having an adult as a safety net to ask questions is really valuable. Students need to see what this leads to—including understanding grants and scholarships—and we need to connect the dots of why they’re doing this.”

Continuing the work through advocacy
We put student success at the heart of everything we do. We believe all scholars deserve the opportunity to pursue an education to meet the demands of today’s world, and we are working to tear down inequities that exist for first-generation students, students of color, and students from low-income families.
Our goal is to make sure that each scholar is empowered to pursue their dream of a college education without trading off their financial future. Removing financial barriers is a step toward achieving equity in education.
We continue to advocate and strengthen opportunities for underserved youth. Learn more about our advocacy initiatives, including our federal and state legislative priorities.
New financial aid hub
We are also excited to announce the launch of a new hub on our website, where you can get resources, tips, and support to help you navigate financial aid. You can also find copies of our presentations, webinar recordings, handouts, and more.
