College Bound Saturday: The Tacoma Scholars Conference

The conference engaged students who have signed-up for the College Bound Scholarship, and their families, in college planning and preparation activities supportive of their post-secondary aspirations. WCAN worked in partnership with the Tacoma College Support Network (TCSN) to support the conference. Over 200 students and family members attended the event. Seattle Is College Bound Conference

WCAN and Seattle College Access Network (SCAN) partners sponsored the Seattle Is College Bound Conference. The conference was an opportunity to sign-up 7th or 8th grade students for the College Bound Scholarship and for students already signed-up to learn the next steps to ensure they are prepared for success in college and career. WCAN Statewide Conference

On March 9, 2010 at the Northwest Regional meeting of the National College Access Network (NCAN) the Washington College Access Network was officially launched. The conference was organized by the founding partners of WCAN in partnership with the National College Access Network and the University Of Washington Office Of Minority Affairs. It was held at the University of Washington and was attended by 280 people from five states. Over 200 of the attendees came from Washington and represented every region of the state.
