2012 Make it Happen!

Make it Happen! is a four day, three night college campus experience, taking place at Pacific Lutheran University July 11 - 14, 2012. Current 11th and 12th graders along with newly selected Governors’ Scholars will attend workshops, participate in activities and learn invaluable life skills. Workshops range from what it takes to get to college, to how to pay for it once they are there.

What is Make It Happen?

Make it Happen! is a FREE summer program for Washington State foster youth, currently in 11th or 12th grade, interested in learning about college. You will experience college life by attending workshops, participating in fun activities, and living in the dorm for four days and three nights.

Why Should I Go?

Your Make it Happen! College experience is paid for by the College Success Foundation at no cost to you. Everything from transportation, workshops, t-shirts, campus meals, and dorm rooms are taken care of. While you are on campus, you will not only learn about the steps it will take for you to get into college, but you will learn about money available to help you PAY for college. You won’t do this alone. Peer mentors, staff, volunteers, and inspiring speakers - many of whom were in foster care themselves – will be working together in support of you and your peers toward college success.
