College Bound Scholarship

The College Bound Scholarship guides low-income 7th and 8th graders on the path to a college education by offering the promise of tuition when the student reaches college age if the student keeps up his or her grades and stays crime-free. The College Success Foundation, in partnership with the state of Washington, the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, actively works with students and families throughout the state to sign up eligible students and provide college readiness support in selected school districts. Click here for a list of College Bound staff members in your area who can help you sign up students.

The College Bound Scholarship is a state-funded financial aid program administered by the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB). Students may apply online at www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound. The HECB provides schools with numbers and names of students who have applied and with free promotional materials. Please contact the HECB at collegebound@hecb.wa.gov or 1-888-535-0747 for questions regarding program administration, funding, student eligibility, etc.
